Drogheda Credit Union Art Competition Awards 2026

The Drogheda Credit Union Art Competition Awards took place on Tuesday, 20th October in The Marcy Hotel, with the winning artists and their families in attendance.

The theme for the annual Art Competition was ‘World of Colour’. Drogheda Credit Union received over 1000 entries for the annual Art Competition, which was judged by Tony Conaghy, Droichead Arts Centre.

The annual Credit Union Art Competition provides an opportunity for artists of all ages and abilities to express themselves creatively. This year’s colourful theme inspired an impressive range of artwork, with each entrant bringing their own unique interpretation to the competition.

Over 40 winners and their families attended the event which celebrates creativity and imagination from Under 7 through to Adult, with students from Ballymakenny College also recognised in the Additional Needs Group category.

Sarah McGee, CEO, of Drogheda Credit Union said “The theme ‘World of Colour’ really captured the imagination of our entrants, and the standard of artwork this year was exceptional. Every piece brought something different to the competition. Congratulations to all of our 2026 winners and to everyone who entered.”

The first prize winners of each category will move onto the next stage, Chapter Level, where they have a chance of getting through to National Level. Winners at National Level will feature on the Credit Union 2028 calendar.

Drogheda Credit Union would like to thank everyone who took part and the teachers who do so much every year to encourage their students and make the competition a success. A special thank you to Tony Conaghy who gives his time every year to do the extremely challenging job of judging.
